The epic 100 Essential Directors Feature is now underway at PopMatters: a list of 100 film directors that explores key films, underrated work, and offers a biographical/critical sketch on each of the selected auteurs. I had fun writing about five of my favourite filmmakers for this feature - Claire Denis, Michael Haneke, Mike Leigh, Agnes Varda and Andrzej Wajda - and will publish the pieces here once they’ve appeared on PopMatters.
