A much-appreciated dash of
summertime spirit was brought to a decidedly nippy January night at the latest
#LDNTheatreBloggers Meet-Up last Friday. Co-hosted, like the last get-together at Soho Grind,
by Official Theatre and the seat-review website SeatPlan, the event this time took
place at London's lovely Planet Hollywood, no less, where OT’s very own pineapple of
perfection, Rebecca Felgate (rocking a palm tree print two-piece as only she can and decking all
those in attendance out with Hawaiian lei), presided over a summer-themed
evening in which food and wine flowed as freely as theatre-centred chat.
Announcements (including news
of developments to the SeatPlan site) and competitions (I am now the possessor
of a SeatPlan T-Shirt, I’m proud to say!) studded the evening, and it was
delightful to catch up with friends and familiar faces, as well as to meet some new
attendees, among them Doug Mayo of BritishTheatre.com and Sav D’Souza
of Just a Platform, to network and talk about shows
seen.
Although the event was
extremely well-attended, Rebecca is always keen to add more arts bloggers and
theatre writers to the list of contacts. So if you’d like to be kept in the
loop about these events then contact Official Theatre via email (rebecca@officialtheatre.com) or on Twitter. Thanks, once again, to Official Theatre and to SeatPlan for another
enjoyable, inspiring (and boozy) night.
Here's a list of links to the blogs and websites of some of the writers in attendance:
